Thank you, Nancy

Nancy Savage has been a loyal member of the Lair’s team for nearly 20 years. She began working at the Sawmill Road location in October, 1995. She had retired from her job with the Columbus Symphony a few years prior to help her daughters prepare for their weddings. After her daughters married, Nancy wanted a new job to keep her busy. One Saturday morning, she made a visit to Lair’s to purchase candles. She saw the “help wanted” sign on the door and decided to pick up an application. Days later she returned the application to the manager and was hired on the spot.  When Nancy and her husband moved to Upper Arlington, Nancy moved to the Lane Avenue location to work, where she knows so many of the customers.

When asked what the best part about working at Lair’s is, Nancy said, “Absolutely the people that I have worked with. The real joy for me is working with younger people and watching as they grow up and have families of their own.” Nancy’s favorite season to work at Lair’s is Christmas. She enjoys the excitement of the people who visit the store during the holiday season and “helping them find the perfect gift for someone.” When Nancy is not working, she spends her time gardening, cooking and watching movies with her husband.

Nancy will be retiring at the end of July to be able to spend more time with her family.  Lair’s thanks you for a great 20 years, Nancy! Your energy and joy will be missed.
